About

Hello, I’m Brooke Meenan.

I have been working with casting processes and various materials for many years. I am interested in surfaces, small details, and what emerges when time is taken to really look. For me, casting is not only about form, but about a shared process — about exploring something slowly and attentively.

I completed my Bachelor of Fine Art at the Kansas City Art Institute with a focus on painting and interdisciplinary practice, later studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, and earned my Master’s degree at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. These experiences shaped my perspective on material, space, and surface — even though the deeper technical knowledge developed over many years of studio practice.

A large part of the work is patience: extensive finishing, sanding, and refinement. Since 2017, I have worked regularly with my colleague Renaud Hélèna. Our collaboration has grown over the years and contributes significantly to the technical quality of the work.

The castings are created in a calm and personal atmosphere at the studio in Berlin. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and that we discover together what should take shape.
